MEMBERSHIP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM MANAGER

The establishment of a stable, global, consolidated Membership Management System (MMS) in 2014 is one of the International Dzogchen Community’s (IDC’s) top priorities.  To support the success of this key program, the IDC seeks to engage a professional project manager to work on a paid, full-time basis between now and 31 January, 2015.

 The Mission

 With the support of the Board-of-Directors, the participation of other team members, and expertise from the technology vendor, the Project Manager will be responsible for organizing, planning, managing and delivering a fully-functional Membership Management System technology project using a standard methodology (e.g,. PMI or PRINCE2), from project initiation through project implementation to project closure, according to requirements specified by the Red International Gakyil (Red IG) or its Management Systems Committee (MSC).

The desired end result is a fully-functional, Internet-based membership system that is correct, cost-effective, functionally effective, and accessible to a global community of end-users by no later than 28 November, 2014, including ensuring that all related points of people, process, technology and policy are designed, built, tested, and placed into production within the given timeline.  The Role

The Project Manager will plan, direct, oversee, and control all aspects of the project as assigned and agreed. Activities include definition of project implementation approach, creating and validating detailed plans, scoping, budgeting and tracking of actuals, task assignment and oversight, resource planning, resource management, milestone tracking, management of project risks, issues, dependencies, and project communications including stakeholder and business client management.

The Project Manager will also maintain the project/program governance structure and delivery processes, coordinate deliverables and help define standards and best practices throughout project lifecycle.

Travel to the main work location in central Tuscany, Italy, will be required at certain times during the project. Travel to other international locations of the IDC may also be needed.

 The Successful Candidate

 The successful candidate for this essential role will have the following characteristics:

 

  • Must have at least five years of recent, active, professional experience in IT Project Management and be able to demonstrate a record of successful technology implementations, preferably in a non-profit environment
  • Must have at least five years management or supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit or public sector entity, with a minimum of three years of international experience
  • Should have a minimum of three years’ experience collaborating with and managing external IT service providers and vendors
  • Deep experience managing projects to implement CRM databases – particularly membership databases
  • Must be comfortable working across time zones and cultures
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as CivicCRM a plus
  • Must be fully fluent in English. Ability to communicate in Italian is a plus.
  • Must have expert-level abilities to create written communications and documentation in English
  • Strong leadership presence a plus
