This autumn nature is just beginning to change its colors, and our majestic pine trees still stand proudly under the clear blue sky. Our summer has been dry and warm, which was perfect for practices and retreats.

September 2024 – Amiata Yoga Festival
In the spring an initiative was proposed to Merigar West that was to take place towards the end of September. It consisted of three days of Yoga activities
Died – Zinnia Millicent Steinhauer
On the night of the 29th-30th September, 2024, Zinnia Millicent Steinhauer, one of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu’s earliest students, died unexpectedly in Naples, Italy
Died – John Nickson
“John was a seeker of truth all his life. He trained as a TM teacher in the early 1970’s, studied for a Theology degree at London University, and particularly studied Buddhist teachings. In the 1990’s, I believe, he showed me a copy of Namkhai Norbu’s The Self Perfected State,and began to follow his teachings.” Claire Nickson
Died – Jim Trucano-Harp
Jim Trucano-Harp – a long-time community member and devoted student of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche and Sogyal Rinpoche, died Wednesday 9/22/21 at 12:42pm ET of a heart-attack.

We are very sorry to inform you that on the night of September 23, around 1 am, our dear Vajra Sister Virginia Aloia left us after many weeks of ill health.

Our Vajra Brother Carlos Eduardo Lerner from Argentina died on September 21, 2021.

Forty Years of Merigar
2021 marks a symbolic moment in the life of Merigar. In fact, forty years have passed since the ‘Podere Nuovo’ farmhouse and land was bought and began to develop as the first center of the International Dzogchen Community.
