Spiritual Guide the Dzogchen Community, son and devoted disciple of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.​​

Namkhai Yeshi was born in Italy in 1970. Son and student of Dzogchen master Chögyal Namkhai Norbu (1938-2018), Namkhai Yeshi received both Christian and Buddhist education and studied cinematography, philosophy, and computer science. His professional experience is in IT for medium-sized enterprises, where he has held positions of increasing responsibility.

As a child, H.H. Sakya Trizin recognized him as the reincarnation of his maternal uncle, Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Wangchuk (1909-1960), giving him the name Jamyang Chökyi Nyima; in 2007, Namkhai Yeshi visited his monastery in Tibet.

At his father’s request, he has always been involved in the future of the Dzogchen Community, introducing modernity and technology to support its natural evolution.

Today, as holder of the transmission and lineage of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, he serves as spiritual guide of the international Dzogchen Community, dividing his time between family and work commitments and institutional duties.

Over the past five years, Namkhai Yeshi has trained in electronic music at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence and now composes music on the computer; he uses sound and the language of electroacoustic music to make ancient knowledge and meditative experiences accessible.

Anniversary of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu

It will be a very special day, opening in the morning with teachings by Master Namkhai Yeshi in the Gönpa of Merigar, followed in the afternoon by the inauguration, in Arcidosso, of Via Maestro Norbu (formerly Via Tibet); the day will continue with the celebration of MACO’s tenth anniversary, during which “Arté”, the site-specific exhibition by Namkhai Yeshi, will also be inaugurated.

The day will close in the evening with a concert in Via Maestro Norbu (formerly Via Tibet) in Arcidosso, where Namkhai Yeshi and Alessandro Di Maio will present their two new electronic music albums, both dedicated to the memory of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu: “27”, by Namkhai Yeshi, and “Sounds from the Bardo”, by Alessandro Di Maio.

We are delighted to announce the upcoming retreat with Namkhai Yeshi at Dzamling Gar: Dzogchen Teachings – The 4 Chogshags.

The Teachings will take place both onsite and online from October 15th to the 18th, 2026, and will be given in English, with Spanish translation. Online streaming in several other languages will follow soon.The first session will begin on Thursday at 4:00 pm (Tenerife time, GMT+1), and the retreat will end around noon on Sunday.
