I really enjoyed studying Tibetan Kunye massage in Tenerife over the weekend of  31st October – 4th November with my favorite Menpas, Irina Pankevich and Medegma Budaeva, under the precious guidance of Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo.

I had already completed all three levels of the Diet course following the program of the Tibetan Medicine Center in Tenerife and this course on Kunye massage was a perfect immersion into the practice!

Medegma Budaeva and Irina Pankevich

Kunye is an ancient form of massage therapy taught in Traditional Tibetan Medicine. It is an effective, dynamic healing art for alleviating pathologies of the nervous system and mental disturbances such as emotional imbalances including agitation, anxiety, depression, moodiness, forgetfulness and insomnia; stress related problems including migraine and tension headaches; back pain including upper, middle and lower back; tight muscles, joints, ligament, neck and shoulder rigidity, poor circulation. The effect is one of deep relaxation allowing the system to restore and rebalance in order to maintain good health and a state of well-being.

The explanations I received during this course were full of important details and commentaries which made my comprehension much easier and very meaningful!

Coming back home I have already started practicing Kunye on my friends and relatives. They are excited about this, happy to receive it and give me very positive feedback!

I wish to thank Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo for preserving and spreading this ancient tradition and wisdom!
