Over 170 people attended, in attendance and online, the two-day event dedicated to the theme of Bardo – the passage between life and death according to Tibetan tradition – led by Michael Katz, scholar and expert practitioner of the teachings of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.

The event, sponsored by the International Dzogchen Community Gelegling Bologna, in collaboration with the Ati Yoga Foundation, Libreria Ibis, Shang Shung Publications and Om Edizioni, was held in Bologna on May 30 and 31, 2025.

The first session, which was free and open to the public, was held at the Ibis Bookstore, with the presentation of the book “Awakening at the Time of Death -The Tibetan Book of the Dead”. Michael Katz introduced the meaning of the text with simplicity and depth, explaining how this ancient manual can offer valuable spiritual guidance at times of transition and transformation.

The event was also broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook, reaching more than 100 connected people from around the world.

The following day, an experiential workshop on the Bardo was held at the OM Center, an opportunity to explore more deeply, through practice and dialogue, the spiritual dimension of death as an inevitable yet transformative part of the cycle of life. The seminar was sold out, with 50 people in attendance and over 120 people zooming in, from all over the world, with simultaneous translation into Italian, Spanish and Russian.

Special thanks to the translators: Cristiana for the Italian, Yolanda for the Spanish and Kirill for the  Russian, always helpful and attentive in facilitating the understanding of the participants.

The success of the event confirmed a growing interest in the themes of spirituality applied to everyday life, especially in the wisdom of Dzogchen in its authentic and accessible form.

With great gratitude to Michael Katz, the Community thanks all participants and looks forward to future events.
