Werner Berger, the oldest practitioner – aged 95 – of the Dzogchen Community Switzerland died peacefully at Dzamling Gar on the evening of Thursday on the 19th of January 2017at 7 pm. It was his wish to meet Chögyal Namkhai Norbu in person after he was shown a photo of him. Listening to Rinpoche teaching in Paris he had an epiphany in a moment. He lived and was nourished by this until his passing away.
He loved Ganapujas which we did frequently together. He was devoted to Rinpoche and connected to the Community. Despite his age he travelled to many retreats following Chögyal Namkhai Norbu’s Teachings also in webcast. For the last four years he lived in a country house in the Swiss mountains together with other practitioners. He had a joyful heart and a loving manner. He practiced and loved the Vajra Song.
