Kunye and Yantra Yoga
On October 18, 2025, we opened the doors of Zhenphenling, the ling in Rome, to promote our center and our activities to an audience that is not limited to our practitioners. In particular, we chose two ancient teachings from Tibetan culture, offering concrete experiences to participants, first receiving a brief Kunye treatment and then experimenting with the dynamic sequences of Yantra Yoga.
The event began with an introduction to Tibetan medicine and the basic principles on which it is based by doctor and Kunye teacher Emilio Gallotta. He illustrated Kunye massage and external therapies, which are an important part of this ancient method. He then introduced Yantra Yoga which, although not strictly part of medical therapies, supports them and finds synergistic support from Kunye massage, as both methods work on the five elements, harmonizing the three aspects of the human being: body, energy, and mind.

The session then moved on to the experiential part. Simone Nastari, a physiotherapist specializing in Kunye massage and external therapies, Luca Gaetani, a certified Kunye massage therapist, and Emilio began treating the numerous participants in the meeting with massages on the chair. While waiting for their turn, people could practice a simple but effective hip joint exercise on each other, which had been explained shortly before.

Once this first phase was complete, Angelica Siedlecki, Yantra Yoga teacher and psychologist, and Fulvio Grosso, Yantra Yoga teacher, sports scientist, and holistic therapist, presented Yantra Yoga and guided the group in experiencing the dynamic movements and breathing of this practice. All participants were thus able to appreciate its characteristics and benefits.
At the end of this ‘intense’ three-hour meeting, which was full of questions and curiosity from the more than thirty participants, the overall assessment was positive for everyone.
It was a great joy for us to be able to share these ‘treasures’ that Master Chögyal Namkhai Norbu has given us.
