Dear Vajra Brothers and Sisters and Friends of the Dzogchen Community,
We deeply regret having to announce the cancellation of the teaching retreat of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu in Paris from June 9 to 11, 2017. Rinpoche’s final decision came to us this morning, June 5th.
Up until the last minute, Rinpoche hoped to be able to come, but his state of health isn’t good enough yet to travel.
Even though we are all deeply disappointed, we must keep in mind that our Precious Master’s health is of primordial importance.
Concerning financial donations made for the retreat registration (120€ or any amount less or greater), Palriling CDI will reimburse you, unless you decide to generously not ask for part of or the entire sum.
As you no doubt know, there were significant amounts of money that were invested by Palriling for the retreat venue rental, the hotel rooms for Rinpoche and his travel companions, the room rental for the Khaita dances, as well as the purchase and shipping fees of the books (totalling 48,000€). Palriling CDI took out insurance for the Salons de l’Aveyron (retreat venue, 28,000 € rental fees) in case of cancellation; however, there remains a big uncertainty whether the claim will be accepted and the rental fees reimbursed.
People wishing to be reimbursed are asked to communicate to us the requested sum to be reimbursed and their bank information (BIC and IBAN codes).
On the other hand, if you wish to donate part or the total sum of your registration fees, please let us know. We warmly thank you in advance. In this way, your contribution will help re-establish the financial foundation that will allow a future visit of Rinpoche in Paris to be possible.
Given the late date, it wasn’t possible to cancel the room rental at the Cité Universitaire for the Khaita dances, therefore this event will take place as planned – the same days and times. A book sale will take place on site and the films “Travels to Bhutan” and “My Reincarnation” will be shown on this occasion. Please come and join us if you are in Paris.

Finally, for those who will be in Paris, we plan to rent a smaller room on Friday, June 9,Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 for group practices, Santi Maha Sangha teachings and introduction to meditation and Yantra Yoga classes, given that several Dance, S.M.S and Yantra Yoga instructors will be present. A more complete program will be sent shortly.
We are making strong aspirations that our Precious Master may soon come to Paris to teach and that we may all reunite again in His presence.
