Guru Dragphur Retreat Tenerife 2012

Dear Members of the Dzogchen Community,

We are pleased to announce the December 2021 selection for the Rinpoche Retreat Replay. For the upcoming months we will be streaming Rinpoche’s Guru Dragphur Retreat which took place in Tenerife between December 26, 2012 and January 1, 2013.

The practice of Guru Dragphur, the wrathful manifestation of Guru Padmasambhava, is one of the most effective practices for controlling negativities and provocations by the various classes of beings, and also leads to total realization.

In Rinpoche’s words:

“If you are realized you are always in a state of instant presence and do not need any practices for protection, but most of the time we are distracted in the relative condition of everyday life. In this case, we need protection. There is protection, one of the most important, which is all-encompassing, and that is the practice of Guru Dragphur. With the practice of Guru Dragphur, we can overcome all kinds of negative provocations.” Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.

All previously streamed retreats can be found at the Previous Retreats link at the top of the webcast homepage. Please note that every two months a new Rinpoche retreat replay will be selected and the current retreat will then be found at the Previous Retreats page.

“One of the most effective practices for controlling negativities is Guru Tragphur. This form of Guru Tragphur, however, is very special because it is the union of Hayagriva, Vajrapani, Garuda, and Vajrakilaya as well as Yangdag Heruka. This practice is a terma of my uncle Heka Lingpa, also known as Jamyang Chökyi Wangchug and Khyentse Yangsid Rinpoche.” —Chögyal Namkhai Norbu
