Your Year with the Tibetan Calendar

Discover how your year will be according to the Tibetan Calendar

The characteristics of your year can be established through the Tibetan astrological system. They are represented in a table with white and black dots that you can find within the Alendar section in Sangha App, or in the printed booklet of the Tibetan Calendar.

Are there a lot of black or white dots in your profile? In this article you can find out what they mean, while in the app and in the booklet you can discover what you should do to harmonize the conflicting aspects.

If you enter your birth date in the Sangha App, you will find the white and black dots in Alendar, in the tab called, “Year Aspect.” In the printed version of the Tibetan Calendar of the Wood Snake year there is a table of the individual aspects for this year on pages 147-150.

If the interactions of the elements of your birth year and this year are not favorable for you, you will find some small arrows leading you to the explanation and advice on what to do to improve them. For example, you may be advised to do the long life practice, hang lungta, autenticate a namkha, or do the practice of Sang, etc.

Where do the white and black dots come from?

How are these interactions calculated for Sog (life), Lü (body), Wang (capacity), Lung (fortune) and La (protection)?

Very easily. The elements of the five aspects (sog, lü, wang, lung and la) of your birth year are compared with those of the current year (this year is the Wood Snake year). The individual elements have four basic relationships with each other, which are called “mother”, “son”, “friend” or “enemy”. Furthermore, there may be a situation in which both elements in the comparison are the same – this is called “doubled”.

Positive

The “mother” relationship is represented by 3 white dots. This means that your personal element is supported by the year’s element of the aspect you are comparing (e.g. fortune). It is protected and everything in this aspect will go very well, just like a mother protects and supports her child.

The “friend” relationship is represented by 2 white dots. Also, in this case your personal element is supported by the element of the year, and so everything will go well. Just like a friend is supporting you, it is a positive relationship.

Two water elements and two earth elements are indicated by 1 white dot. This means that the circumstances for this aspect will be positive.

Neutral

The “son” relationship is represented by 1 white dot and 1 black dot, which means neutrality. It is neither good nor bad. Metaphorically a son is a child, who doesn’t have the supportive energy that mothers give to their children. Neither is he a friend.

Negative

Two wood elements, two fire elements and two metal elements are indicated by 1 black dot. Certain problems and obstacles may manifest in the given aspect.

The “enemy” relationship is represented by 2 black dots. One could say the opposite of the “friend” relationship. It is a negative influence. There is a likelihood of obstacles and problems in the aspect being compared, if the secondary circumstances arise.

Example

For example how will people born in the year of the Earth Horse (1978) fare with the black and white dots in this Wood Snake year?

You can find the aspects of your birth year in the Sangha App in the “Birth Aspect” when you enter your date of birth. If you are comparing aspects for someone else, simply change the date of birth. For aspects of the current Wood Snake year, you need to change the date of birth to any date after March 1, 2025 (yes, we make these calculations automatically for you).

La (protection) WOOD of the Wood Snake is the same element as for the Earth Horse WOOD = 1 black dot (negative)

In conclusion, this current Wood Snake year is not very positive for Earth Horses in almost all aspects. Therefore, in Sangha App you will find small arrows for Sog (life), Lű (body), Wang (capacity), Lung (fortune), and La (protection), with advice and recommendations on how to harmonize these aspects in the best way possible.
