The Vajra Dance retreat of July 11th – 14th at Dejamling during the Inauguration of the Universal Mandala was a luminous and intense event. Luminous as the mandala of the Cevennes bathed in summer light can be. Radiant like Rinpoche’s face as of one of his many dreams becomes realized when his smile seems to say: See! It can be done!

We shared in the joy dancing morning and afternoon, each one participating in the world-wide meeting with the Dance of the 12 A, simple and essential practice.

On the last day we took the opportunity to give the tent and the mandala a good cleaning; everyone got involved. Purification of the place and of the participants by water.

Intense as an encounter can be under the magnifying glass of Guru Dragphur (long retreat led simultaneously by Andrew Farr). This was the chance to have all sorts of exchanges and clarifications, one subject leading to another: communication, organization, collaboration, evolution… Such a marvelous diversity of assessments certainly makes for a rich community but is not always easy to channel into effective collaboration as wished by our Master (these were his last words at the Tsegyalgar retreat). A full truckload of out-of-use objects were symbolically collected and brought to the dump. Purification of the place and the participants by fire.

On July 14th we celebrated the Union of water and fire with a swim in the river and the fireworks in Le Vigan!

Personally, it was the first time I put my commitment towards Rinpoche and the Community of becoming a Vajra Dance instructor into action. The circumstances of this retreat showed me all that this commitment implies and I sincerely thank all those who helped me see more clearly, each in their own way: Manon, Sébastien, Andrew, Hélène, Marie-Madeleine, Marie, Beatrix, Philippe, Carole, Alvaro, Johan, Sergey, Alexandre and his little daughter, Anastasia.
