From April 10-12, 2026, Ricky Sued lead a retreat introducing the fundamentals of meditation.  This retreat was co-sponsored by Tashigar Sud and Tashigar Norte. This was the first of what we hope will be many future collaborative retreats hosted by the two Tashigars.

Ricky taught students in-person in the beautiful gönpa of Tashigar Sud, and online to those far away.  Teachings were delivered in Spanish, with simultaneous translation into English.

With simplicity and clarity, we were instructed in the reasons for, and meaning of, meditation within the Dzogchen context.

Ricky clearly outlined and explained the essence of the four noble truths, the energies of the emotions, the incredible opportunity given us by way of birth in a precious human body, the meaning of karma and the benefits of practice.

Ricky explained and led us in the 9 breathings, and Caro Ming gave an introduction to the practice of rhythmic breathing.

We learned about fixation and we spent time in this practice both with and without an object.

We learned about the elements and their symbolic colors and impacts.  Ricky explained the true meaning of refuge and Bodhichitta and presented a simple practice of taking refuge.  We engaged together in the 9 breathings, purification and refuge.

The teachings also contained audio/video presentations of Rinpoche leading the practice.

Learning the value of the teachings and especially the teacher, we proceeded to sound A, visualize and internalize the guru, to receive and spread lights and to rest in the presence.   We learned about and sang together, the Song of the Vajra.

On the third day, we combined the elements taught over the previous days and did a beautiful practice together.  We were reminded that we practice to become more aware in order to benefit all beings.  This is meritorious and we dedicated merits from our practice as a completion of each day’s teachings.

Technical and translation expertise made this remarkable teaching a smooth, accessible and seamless experience.
