Intensive Study Program

It’s not just an ordinary song, but a profound teaching…”

“I didn’t write a nice song just for singing and for its melody. I wrote the Dzamling Gar Song for our future, to show the direction we are taking, what we are doing, what our responsibility is, and how we can contribute to sentient beings, to human beings, particularly on this globe.”  — Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, 2013

I would like to share a new program, A Little Gem, dedicated to the study of The Song and Dance of Dzamling Gar, composed, set to music, and choreographed by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.

This program is the result of a collaboration between teachers of Khaita, Vajra Dance, and Santi Maha Sangha, who will guide participants in discovering this short yet profound teaching.

The Program

The program consists of three parts which can also be attended independently of one another.

Part 1 — Introduction to the Dzamling Gar Song and Dance
Beginning at the end of September, this part is open to everyone and consists of one session online per week over three weeks. It is designed to provide a basic understanding of the Dzamling Gar Song and Dance. I’ll guide you step by step through its essential elements

Part 2 — Deepening the Song and Dance
This part, taking place online during a weekend in December, will be dedicated to deepening both our understanding of the song and our experience of the movements of the dance. It will be led by Adriana Dal Borgo and Arnaud Coquillard – Santi Maha Sangha teacher.

Part 3 — Training in the Dzamling Gar Song and Dance
The third part consists of a one-week session, offered both in person and online, during the first week of April.

During this intensive week, participants will deepen their knowledge and practice of the Dzamling Gar Dance, while also exploring other Khaita dances. As the Dzamling Gar Dance embodies the essential principles of Khaita, we will also study specific terminology and references, as well as the history and principles of Khaita.

This part will be led by Adriana Dal Borgo and Petra Zezulkova, both Khaita teachers and trainers.

This final part is open to anyone with a basic knowledge of Khaita. However, the main focus will be on training in the Dzamling Gar Song and Dance, with an emphasis on singing and dancing together as a group.

For those who wish to pursue the path of becoming teachers of the Dzamling Gar dance, the program will provide the necessary foundations. Teacher certification will be possible following a final supervision, to be arranged in consultation with the teacher trainers.
