Dear International Dzogchen Community,
As you probably know Chögyal Namkhai Norbu will visit Austria in July 2017 in order to give a Dzogchen retreat in Vienna and to visit our beautiful ling in the country-side, Yeselling.
It will be the ninth time that Rinpoche will turn the Wheel of the Dharma in Austria.
Austria has been the second country after Italy in which Rinpoche gave Teachings.
Here is a list of all retreats that Rinpoche held in Austria:
August 17–21 1977 in Vienna and in Buddhist Centre in Scheibbs
July 16-19 1978 in Vienna
July 21–24 1978 in the Buddhist Centre in Scheibbs
January 4–15 1981 in Semriach (Rinpoche gave for the first time in the West the Teachings of Longde)
August 23–31 1985 in Joachimstal
June 4–6 1993 in Gutenstein
June 12–14 1998 in Gutenstein
October 25–27 2002 in Sinabelkirchen
From June 10– 12 1998 Rinpoche also participated in a Dream conference in Vienna
2017 will be the 40th anniversary of the Dzogchen Community in Austria and we are so honored and pleased that Rinpoche will come again to our country in order to spread the Teachings.
We already have started with the planning and preparation for the retreat in Vienna.
We also plan to show Rinpoche a kind of exhibition of “40 years Dzogchen Community Austria” with photos of the retreats and other activities held within our Dzogchen Community.
In order to be able to make this exhibition to something extraordinary and something unforgettable, we need the collaboration and support of all of you who ever came to Austria in order to participate in a retreat in the last 40 years.
We are looking for photos or documents (poster, etc.) of the mentioned retreats, but also of the retreats of Jim Valby, Nina Robinson, and Elio Guarsico held in Austria.
As I am responsible for setting up this special exhibition, I ask you to check your archives or your boxes of old photos somewhere in your attic and to send me your photos or documents of these retreats in digital or paper form. It would be so wonderful if you could help and support me as only in that way will we manage to please Rinpoche with images of the evolution of the Dzogchen Community in Austria. Please be part of that initiative and come to Austria in July to participate in the retreat and to see the story of Rinpoche and our community. Please contact me if you can help us.
