Fundraising for ASIA Onlus
The Czech Community is happy to inform you that this year once again we organized a wonderful Losar celebrations at the ancient Prague New Town Hall on February 21st, 2015 from 14:00 to early morning.
The Losar event is a successful project for the public which we have already been organizing for 10 years.
The Tibetan Buddhist groups existing in Prague are involved and also many organizations supporting Tibetan culture and human rights together with the Tibetan community living in the Czech Republic. The Czech Dzogchen Community is the main organizer of the whole event every year.
On the main stage we presented a cultural program for the general public: Khaita Joyful dances, meditation, the Vajra Dance presentation, lottery and various performers and music groups. Every year we invite well known professional musicians who play for free and dedicate their fees to support Tibet through ASIA. There was also parallel stage with various DJs. There was a huge space for specific workshops and presentations of various traditions, in which the Dzogchen Community presented the Vajra Dance, Kunye and ASIA documentaries.
The whole event was also designed for families with children, so there was a playroom with theater and various workshops for children (painting mandalas, thankas, printing lungtas).
For hungry and thirsty people there was also a little restaurant with Tibetan, Indian and RAW food and a Tearoom.
Visitors could buy books and many other articles from many dharma shops.
The whole event was attended by approximately 700 visitors and we received some nice feedback. We are happy also that several articles were published in Czech Press before and also afterwards the event. All fundraising profit will be sent as always to ASIA, where we have adopted 4 children from the Losar proceeds since 2005.
On behalf of the Losar Team.
