The practice of the Purification of the Six Lokas is a special practice of purification belonging to the series of Dzogchen Upadesha. It is a powerful practice able to eliminate not only the effects of negative karma, but above all its causes, that is disturbing emotions, such as anger or jealousy. This practice also increases the clarity of the practitioner and removes obstacles. As it eliminates the causes of emotions, it also prevents rebirth in the six realms of conditioned existence (lokas). Attachment to illusory vision diminishes, and one is less conditioned by ordinary emotions. The Purification of the Six Lokas is especially important for Dzogchen practitioners as it facilitates discovering one’s instant presence.
This video recording is a complete teaching session given by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu in Merigar, 16 August, 2001. Rinpoche explains the particular emotions related to the six realms of existence (lokas) and the conditions related to each of them as well as the way to perform the Purification of the Six Lokas using the methods of mantra and visualization.
