The 5 Senses (Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell, Touch)
13th to 15th of March 2015
Museo de La Naturaleza y el Hombre Santa Cruz de Tenerife
It is with great joy that give continuity the 5th Edition of Tibetan Culture Festival: The 5 Senses, with the intention of preserving this ancient culture of humanity for the benefit of future generations.
The ancient culture of Tibet, the ‘rooftop of the world’ is embodied in the ‘Five Fields of Knowledge’: Spirituality, Medicine, Art, Linguistics, and Philosophy. These five pillars of the Tibetan culture are like branches from which grow the thousand leaves of manifold expressions of the culture. These many leaves manifest to us through the Five Senses.
Fine paintings on canvas and the natural landscape of surreal beauty seen with the eyes represents the mysticism that imbues the minds of Tibetan people and their land.
Intense melodies heard through the ears, like divine songs that resound through tumultuous skies, bring forth songs of prosperity, peace and joy.
The movements of yoga, and the circling of dancers ground people in their earthly dimension and inner energies through the experience of touch.
The flavours of nomadic food exuding from black tents, and fragrant smoke rising within temples unite together to blend mysticism with the earthly joys of cheerful Tibetans.
These manifold arts that appear as sense experiences communicate a way of life grounded in awareness, peace, happiness and sharing with others.
Hope you enjoy!
