My wife of 42 years (together for 45) died yesterday of pancreatic cancer that was only diagnosed at the end of October. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. My daughter Mia and her husband Tony helped me care for Diana until her passing. Mia wrote this today and it is far more eloquent than anything I could have done:

My beautiful mama died on January 5th. She was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer on October 28th and in the following weeks my dad and I witnessed this horrific disease run a brutal and finite course. She was home with my dad, Tony, and I when she left earth-side, the only solace in this heartbreaking journey. My mom was a loving, unapologetically vibrant human who found purpose and joy in advocating for people with disabilities, engaging in the beauty and wonders of the natural world, art in all forms, and celebrating the uniqueness of each human, each being in her life. She was an exceptional mama, sister, daughter, wife, and friend. Immense gratitude to family and friends who have supported my dad and I in these past weeks. We greatly appreciate your continued love, kindness and patience with us as we navigate life in the aftermath of this profound loss. She is so deeply loved.
