12th TRAINING FOR TRANSLATORS FROM TIBETAN
JULY 2014
Merigar West, Arcidosso (GR), Tuscany, Italy
9-29 July 2014
Courses for advanced students
The training for translators from Tibetan is an initiative of the Shang Shung Institute Austria that first started in 2003. In 2014 we will hold already the 12th training.
Both levels will be held at the same time-period.
Advanced students will translate in groups with the instructor and focus on all aspects of the language as well as on theories and techniques of translating. They will read and translate without any advance preparation. The text will be more complex both grammatically and in terms of content. The goal is to produce publication-ready translations.
90 Euro plus ordinary membership in Shang Shung Institute Austria for 2014 (50 Euro) with a 10% discount if you pay the your membership and the total course fee before 15 June 2014.
For sustaining members of the Shang Shung Institute Austria, the course fee is 25 Euro.
Both the Intermediate and Advanced levels will be led by Prof. Fabian Sanders, professor of Tibetan Language and Literature at the Università Ca’ Foscari in Venice.
