Tashigar Norte on Isla Margherita, Venezuela, hosted an online retreat with Elias Caprilles from 24-26 April, 2026, on the text The Cycle of Day and Night by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.
For those of us who are already familiar with this text, it was refreshing to re-explore it and to hear Elias bring forward the elements presented in the most recent edition of this book. He highlighted differences in presentations between the various texts and explained technical definitions and contexts.
Ultimately, the main thread in the talks was to help us find ways to discover Rigpa on our own through understanding, experience and diligent application.
We listened well to a deep dive into the text in the first two days, and then on Sunday in the final session we practiced together, deepening our understanding with experience.
Elias collaborated with many others in founding the Dzogchen Community in Venezuela in 1986. He and so many of us affiliated with Tashigar Norte look forward to the time (not far away we hope!) when we can return to in-person retreats and sharing of daily life inside this most precious gar.
